UPV hosts #PHVote: The Leader I Want Forum

The UPV Committee Halalan 2016 Committee partnered with Rappler in holding the “#PHVote:The Leader I Want Forum” on February 13, 2016 at the UPV Auditorium, Iloilo City Campus.

The event which aimed at educating and informing the youth in getting involved in choosing the country’s next leaders for 2016 gathered almost 800 students from various universities and youth organizations in Iloilo City. Russel Patina of Rappler emphasized that the activity intends to put to light leaders who are expected to draw the nation’s blueprint and lead the Filipinos to reach the global goals by 2013 and initiate innovative solutions for social changes. Chancellor Rommel A. Espinosa of UP Visayas welcomed the youth delegates as well as thanked the Rappler group for initiating the active participation of the youth in the 2016 election process.

Ms. Patricia Evangelista of Rappler tackled the “#PHVote The Leader I Want,” while Commissioner Jo Jan Paul Peñol of the National Youth Commission discussed the “Significance of the Youth Vote.” Mr. Ted Aldwin Ong, Rappler Lead Iloilo Mover also talked about “Election Issues and Development,” and Mr. Rupert Ambil, MovePH Executive Director spearheaded the “#Move Iloilo Program” and “Take the #PHVote Challenge.”
