UPHSI welcomes junior and senior high school students
The University of the Philippines High School in Iloilo, College of Arts and Sciences, UP Visayas conducted an orientation for its incoming junior high school and incoming senior high school students on July 29, 2016 at the UPV Auditorium, Iloilo City campus.
Dr. Lourdes Zamora, UPHSI Principal, welcomed the incoming high school students and Prof. Ruben Gamala, Director of the Office of Students Affairs gave an inspirational message.
The different topics discussed by UPHSI faculty for the students include the following: 1) Computerized Registration and Student Information System - Prof. Erlo Robert F. Oquendo; 2) Student Discipline - Prof. Evelyn S. Ortigas; 3) Scholarship Policies - Prof. Mary Ann F. Naragdao; 4) Academic Policies - Prof. Anelyn O. Yabillo; 5) Students Activities and Welfare - Prof. Early Sol A. Gadong; and 6) Counseling Services - Ms. Juvy T. Janeo.
There are 80 incoming Grade 7 students for the junior high school program and 105 students for the senior HS program, which has Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM), Science Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), and Humanities and Social Science (HUMS) study strands. The UPHSI now has a total enrollment of 380 students, which includes the 195 returning high school students.
A campus tour for the incoming students was conducted by the UPHSI Junior Peer Facilitators after the orientation program.
