UPVTC attains 90% passing rate in 2016 CPA Board Exam; gets 9th spot
With a 90 percent passing rate and an examinee on the ninth spot, the University of the Philippines Visayas Tacloban College continues to deliver a strong performance in the 2016 Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensure examinations.
Eighteen graduates of the College’s BS Accountancy program from the Class of 2016 passed the highly-competitive examinations held earlier in October 2016 including magna cum laude graduate Mart Anthony D. Dela Peña who ranked ninth among the top 10 passers, with a score of 92.17 percent.
The other graduates of the College who passed the board examination are Abigail E. Alegre, Paquito D. Alvez III, Aljon D. Angeles, Peter Martin B. Batica, Brenz Marion S. Cabagsican, Maria Liyan A. Data, Alex P. Dongallo and Leonora A. Falguera.
Completing the list are Genie Jasmine M. Juaban, NielEulysis Y. Jungaya, Luigi C. Molato, Joanne Lesley C. Padilla, Jullie Ann J. Piañar, Renee Ong S. Punsalan, Rafael I. Ras, Milrose A. Tisado, and Zheerex F. Villero.
A total of 5,249 out of 14,390 examinees – or 36.48 percent – passed the examination administered by the PRC Board of Accountancy on two consecutive weekends this October. They were tested on six subjects: Financial Accounting and Reporting; Advanced Financial Accounting and Reporting; Management Advisory Services; Regulatory Framework for Business Transaction; Taxation; and Auditing.
The examinations were held in Manila, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, and Tacloban. (With sources from http://www.prc.gov.ph/)
