Ferriols comes back to CFOS
Dr. Victor Marco Emmanuel Ferriols returned to service as faculty member of the Institute of Aquaculture, College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences, UP Visayas after earning his Ph.D. in Aquatic Bioscience from the University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan. He earned his degree through the Laboratory of Aquatic Natural Products Chemistry under the supervision of Associate Prof. Shigeru Okada, Ph.D. and Prof. Shigeki Matsunaga, Ph.D.
Dr. Ferriols started as a Research Student in October 2012 before he began his Ph.D. in 2013. He received a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the same university to continue his Ph.D. project that focused on the Biosynthesis of Isoprenoids in Diatoms.
Dr. Ferriols graduated his B.S. Fisheries degree (magna cum laude) in 2008 and received his M.S. Fisheries Degree in Aquaculture in 2011 from UP Visayas. He was the topnotcher of the Fisheries Technologist Licensure Examination in 2009, getting an average score of 89%. Currently, Dr. Ferriols is handling classes in Genetics and Biochemistry.
