Invited resource speakers gave the participants’ pointers in writing their application letters, resumes and, the rigours of the job interview.
Two sessions were organized to accommodate the population of the graduating students from the UPV colleges in the Miagao campus. Mr. John Nocal of PESO Miagao and Prof. Jude Vincent Parcon served as resource speakers for the morning session. In the afternoon, Prof. Elisa Baliao and Ms. Shaira Marie Jopson oriented the graduating students. The MILC was filled by 164 students in the morning and 279 students in the afternoon that totalled to 443 students availing of the career talk.
The administration showed their support by allowing the event to be an alternative class, as recognition of the activity’s contribution to the graduating students’ future. The different departments also showed support by providing snacks for the participants during the whole-day activity.
The UPV Peer Facilitators and UPV Sociological Society worked hand in hand in assisting the Guidance Services Specialists in preparing, planning, and organizing the said event.
The success of the event is a worthy product of the collaboration of the Guidance and Counselling Services Unit under the Office of Student Affairs, the administration, departments and student organizations.
