Eclarino soars in SoTech
Hervie M. Eclarino graduates from the School of Technology with the highest general weighted average. The native of Miagao describes herself as “determined, responsible, and optimistic.”
As one who has chosen to major in BS Food Technology, Eclarino said the School of Technology has become a part of her life for she has seen how passionate her professors are towards their chosen field.
“If given a chance, one thing that I would do as an alumna is to impart my knowledge through teaching. In addition, I would like to donate equipment that would be beneficial for courses in SOTECH,” she added.
Also an alumna of the UP High School in Iloilo, Eclarino said that for eight years UPV taught her to view things in a bigger perspective. “I have realized that serving the country is an utmost priority of every Iskolar ng Bayan. Knowing the daily struggles of our people motivates me do something for our country.”
For her, serving the country means working with the Filipino people. “By working with diverse individuals I can share my knowledge and influence them to love and value our nation. I also want to encourage the people in my sphere of influence to strive in becoming productive members of the community in the hope of bringing a positive change in our society,” she added.
Lastly, Eclarino said that she always keeps in mind the virtues of honor and excellence in everything she does because a decision that one makes can have a great impact. “As future food technologists, the safety of consumers is a priority, thus, we ensure that people receive high quality food from farm to table,” she explained, abounding with conviction as a future food technologist practitioner.
