UPV WellCom conducts orientation/training on responding to common emergencies

In partnership with the UP Visayas Health Services Unit (HSU), the UPV Healthy Lifestyle and Wellness Committee organized an orientation/training on responding to common emergencies particularly on sports-related injuries. Held on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at CM Room 25, Iloilo City campus, the event was participated in by the Committee members as well as selected personnel from the Office of Student Affairs (OSA).

John Lester Sartaguda, MD, FPCP, Medical Officer III of HSU was the resource person. His lecture included an overview of the initial things to do in the field, identify the most common injury and a demonstration of basic first aid. Four nurses of the HSU assisted in further demonstrating on how to administer various basic first aid. The participants were then made to practice what they have learned from the lecture.

Those who attended from OSA were Marilou Jover, Marites Geonanga, Zyreen Lou Faramiran, Edgar Ebro and Jay Naparato.

Meanwhile, the nurse who assisted are Ellaine D. Morit, Joeri Lyn M. Mosquete, Elvira R. Nico, and Michael Gerald Jalandoni.
