UPFG organizes bloodletting activity
In line with its 53rd anniversary celebration, the UP Fisheries Guild (UPFG) recently held a bloodletting activity on November 8, 2018 at the AV Hall, College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS), UP Visayas, Miagao campus.
A duly recognized socio-academic service and political organization of the CFOS, UPFG collected a total of 18 bags of 450cc of blood and were donated to the Philippine Red Cross(PRC)-Iloilo Chapter. Forty-eight (48) interested donors came for the screening, but others failed the test due to low hemoglobin count.
The bloodletting activity has always been an annual regular activity undertaken by the organization to serve the people and save lives. The successful blood donors were treated with snacks, freebies and certificate.
The activity was also supported by the PRC and Health Service Unit (HSU) of UP Visayas. (With sources from UPIS)
