CFOS holds OBE syllabus preparation workshop
The College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS), UP Visayas (UPV) is taking one step at a time in moving forward to be on a par with its counterparts in the ASEAN region.
In line with its Quality Assurance (QA) program, the CFOS conducted a Learning Outcomes-Based Syllabus Preparation workshop at the Umali Conference Room, CFOS, UPV Miagao campus on November 12-14, 2018.
Welcoming the participants to the activity, CFOS Dean Encarnacion Emilia S. Yap said that the undertaking was one way of the College to advance as part of the academic unit of the University. She said that the College had a lot of activities in line with its QA program. She announced that the CFOS was planning to hold an annual industry forum.
The three-day workshop was aimed for the participants to apply an outcomes-based QA mechanism in the revision or design and implementation of curricular programs. It was also expected that the participants could present a detailed OBE-compliant course guide or syllabus at the end of the workshop.
Yap presented the vision, mission, goals and core values of the CFOS that will guide the participants in making the course design.
Dr. Aurora Fe Bautista was invited to facilitate and assist the College in designing an ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) compliant OBE syllabus.
